Rhineland-Palatinate

Rhineland-Palatinate is located in the south-west of Germany and borders on France, Belgium and Luxembourg. The state capital, Mainz, is characterised by its synagogues and Jewish cemeteries, the Romanesque-style Mainz Cathedral with its tombs and the Gutenberg Museum, which is dedicated to the inventor of letterpress printing. The green Moselle valley with the Moselle towns of Piesport and Bernkastel-Kues is home to one of the largest German wine-growing regions.
With a population of around 4.1 million, Rhineland-Palatinate is the sixth largest state in Germany. Four other major cities are located in the region: Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Koblenz, Trier and Kaiserslautern. The whole of Rhineland-Palatinate is part of the cross-border European Greater Saar-Lor-Lux Region.
The housing market is very tight, especially in the big cities, and in the market for shared flats you often have to compete with students. This is where help from like-minded, single parents looking for accommodation comes in handy.
