North Rhine-Westphalia

North Rhine-Westphalia is the most densely populated and the fourth largest German state in terms of area. It borders Lower Saxony to the north and north-east, Belgium and the Netherlands to the west, Hesse to the south-east and Rhineland-Palatinate to the south. The Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region is one of the 30 largest conurbations in the world, where housing is very expensive and single parents in particular find it difficult to find accommodation.
